This image evokes many memories for me…so much has changed since I painted it almost fifteen years ago! I remember working on it as my two boys then 8 and 6 years old watched me with curiosity. I think they were mostly wondering when and if they would get lunch! The garage that is in the scene is no longer there…it was torn down and replaced with my two story Studio Barn. The little dog “Pico” is still with us but she is far from a puppy! And my “boys” are now young men 23 and 20 years old. I will always treasure this painting . It was a huge turning point for me because it was a time in my life when I discovered that it was impossible to hold back any longer. I needed to paint!! btw…that woman in the painting was imaginary. My son Dylan advised me that the composition “needed a person in it.” I added the unknown woman ( or maybe it was really me?) and he was so right…it completed the picture.
