Waiting to Blossom

by C.Kidder on February 14, 2010

I’ve been thinking alot the past few days about Monhegan Island in Maine where I go to paint at least a couple of times a year.
Today I flipped through the pages of weeks and months on my calendar until I came to May. I know that’s when I need to go back to the place where I am completely in my element. It doesn’t matter if it’s cold,or rainy…I always seem to “blossom” when I’m there.
Last Spring it rained for most of the three days that I was on the Island . I took this picture of some tulips that were just as happy as I was…drinking in the rain and just waiting to blossom.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
~Anais Nin

“Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature.”

Moneghan Island is a treasure! February is officialy half over today so it really is time to start planning for spring. Time to think about planting gardens and being outside again. Happy “daydreaming” !!

Aunt Colleen,

What an impressive web site…it makes me miss Short Sands in York Beach, ME.

All my best,
Stephen

I took a drive yesterday to Maine just to get away for the day! So grateful that I’m able to do that…such a beautiful State…not to mention some great outlet shopping :)
Glad that you visited my site and like it! Thanks!
