My neighbor Andrea who is an impressive landscape designer cut these branches of forsythia from one of her bushes to bring to me so that I could have a preview of Spring .
Their sunny color in our kitchen has given me hope after a very long couple of weeks of winter weather and damaging wind storms. Watching the buds burst has cheered me up and reminded me of the miracles of nature. Each year I am in awe when I see the flowers in my garden push through the ground and slowly begin to blossom….an example of patience and perserverance.

Beautiful! Right now I am looking out my window and watcing robins fly from tree branches covered with snow. Today I plan to stop and buy some daffodils. It is a gift to see the season change before our eyes.
I can’t believe those blossoms already. Our daffodils have pushed up a few inches will tolerate this little snow flurry. Can’t wait to see them come out.
The picture is a bit misleading…the branches had tight buds on them when brought inside. They were “forced” to blossom. I hope that they didn’t mind ..I really appreciate that bright yellow especially on this very gray day!!
